T&ampT Communications Ltd

Residential: Project D

Phase one of this project in the East of England is now complete. After the loft conversion was completed a new air conditioned comms room was created to house the core equipment. The equipment racks were installed to provide the core services such as; audio visual distribution, voice and data services, lighting and intercom to the remaining rooms of the property and grounds.

Living Room / Home Theatre

The requirement included the bespoke construction of a home theatre within the constraints of a family space, the living room. This consisted of a 50” full HD 16:9 plasma screen along with a motorised 90” tensioned projection screen and full HD projector. A façade was constructed around the bay window of the living room to house the motorised projection screen, the acoustic back boxes for the speakers, the amplifier and sound processor, lighting and blind controllers. The projection screen can be lowered to cover the window bay and plasma when required for that full movie experience. The projector is discreetly housed within a motorised projector lift mounted in a ceiling down stand. Audio and video sources available include a Kaleidescape Music and Video server, HD satellite receiver and multiple cctv feeds.

The room also includes DMX controlled RGB LED and laser lighting that the client has full control over via the custom Crestron interface. Motorised black out blinds provide complete control of the lighting conditions in the room.

All aspects of the room entertainment facilities including audio visual, lighting and window blinds can be controlled at the touch of a button from one of two touch panels, one wireless and the other wall mounted within the living room itself.

The Future

Phase two of this project adds to the existing CCTV, gate access and intercom solution again all based on the Crestron suite of products.

Phases three and four introduce a further six rooms of lighting and entertainment facilities.

Phase five of this project introduces a dedicated high end theatre in the newly created loft space, where the design remit is simple; make as little compromise to sound and image quality as possible.
