Commercial: Project A

This project consisted of installations within three of these mobile tactical command centres. These high tech trucks are designed to provide on-scene support and management facilities for a regional fire and rescue service.

T&T Communications provided the expertise in designing and installing a control system that allows the operator to select display sources to be fed to the internal 42” plasma screen and/or the 32” ruggedised LCD screen which is mounted on the outside of each truck. This is all controlled via an RF based wireless touch panel with a custom designed interface.

Display sources available to the operator include multiple PC platforms, PTZ remote cameras, and a helicopter downlink. The plasma screen benefits from a touch screen overlay, allowing very simple and intuitive control of the PC’s whilst the external LCD screen can be detached from the truck and used remotely via a 15 meter umbilical cord.Wireless PA systems were also provided to support the officers in their management role in and around the fire scene.
