Current Project 2
This project consists of a whole-house automation system to be installed within a large private residence of 15,000 square feet which is currently being built in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The project will include distributed audio and video and the control of lighting, security, CCTV, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, access control, room to room intercom, whole house paging, data network and voice network which will all be integrated into one system. A dedicated home theatre will also be created within the residence. Many of the rooms will be equipped with touchpanels with custom designed interfaces, making control of all aspects of the residence as simple as possible.
The Head End AV Room
The head end is the hub of the distribution and control system and will comprise of at least three full height racks bayed together and containing all the control and automation equipment along with the audio and video source and distribution equipment.
Multi-room Audio Distribution
Multiple areas shall be equipped with speakers; these will include flush-mount ceiling and in-wall speakers, free standing and external weather-proof speakers. Audio sources will include satellite and/or cable programming, FM programming, Sirius programming and a hard-drive CD music server storage and playback system. Each and any of these sources can be selected to be listened to in any room within the residence which benefits from speakers.
Multi-room Video Distribution
Many areas within the property will also be equipped with High Definition flat panel screens. The video distribution system will be fed by multiple satellite or cable receivers, multiple CCTV feeds, a hard-drive DVD movie server storage and playback system along with video sources local to certain rooms. The distribution system will allow any central video source to be displayed in any room equipped with a screen.
Other Control Systems
T&T will also provide control over the lighting system, security system, CCTV and access control system and window shade system, and will provide status information for all of the above along with the smoke detection system and the power management system.
Dedicated Home Theatre
A world class home theatre will be designed and installed within the residence to provide the clients with a truly cinematic experience. It will include a 144” 2:35 permanent wall mounted, acoustically transparent screen. The screen will also feature automatic masking to suit the movie format. A 1080P full high definition projector with anamorphic lens will be hidden from view in an architectural façade within the room. A state-of-the-art 7.1 surround sound processor and mono-block amplification with matching custom speakers will provide the audio. The speakers will be built into the fabric of the room. The room is currently sound-proofed and when completed will be calibrated for maximum audio performance.
