Current Project 3

This project will involve the custom installation of a home automation system within a residential property which is being built in the south of England. This is a two storey, 5 bedroom premises of approximately 7,000 square feet.

Overview

The installation will provide the client with multi-room audio and video distribution, control of security, CCTV, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, access control, room to room intercom, whole house paging and a voice and data network. All of these various services will be integrated into one complete system allowing the home owner total control via a network of touchscreens and in-wall keypads.

Audio and Video Distribution

Audio distribution will be provided throughout the whole residence allowing the client to listen to any one of the audio sources in any room which is equipped with speakers. Audio sources will include satellite based programming, DAB programming and a hard-drive music server storage and playback system. Along with this, room to room intercom and room to whole house paging will be possible via the in-wall touchscreens and audio distribution system. The video distribution system will utilise multiple satellite receivers, multiple cctv feeds, a hard-drive movie server storage and playback system as well as local video sources. Any one of these sources will be viewable in any room throughout the house which benefits from a display device. The video distribution system will be integrated seamlessly with the audio distribution system to allow for seamless operation.

Lighting Control

A low voltage lighting control system will be integrated into the whole house automation system to allow control of lighting scenes throughout the residence either via a touchscreen or one of many in-wall keypads.

Data and Voice Network

A data network will be installed which will include multiple wi-fi access points throughout the property which will provide coverage for not only laptops and games consoles but also for the wireless touchscreens. Multiple voice lines for both business and private use will be installed.

CCTV, Security and Access Control

CCTV cameras will be fitted in multiple positions both externally and internally, including inside the garage and pool areas. These will be monitored and controlled from any of the in-wall touchscreens or remotely via the internet. Digital hard disc recorders will be installed to record all camera footage. The security system and smoke detectors will all be integrated into the system, allowing them to be monitored via the touchscreens. Access control will be provided for the main gate and house entry points, an interface will be installed to provide two way audio and one way video to any of the touch screens within the main house.

HVAC

A complete environmental control package will be installed within the property to allow the client full control of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning via touchscreen.
